Bill Shankly Quotes

Bill Shankly is een aantal jaar geleden verkozen tot de grootste manager uit de Engelse voetbalgeschiedenis.
Na een spelerscarrière bij onder meer Preston North End trainde hij enkele kleinere clubs waarna hij in 1959 het roer overnam bij Liverpool FC.
Deze club stond op dat moment in de tweede klasse.
Shankly bouwde een team op waarmee hij snel naar de eerste klasse steeg.
In een periode van 15 jaar pakte de club onder zijn leiding ondermeer 3 titels, 2 FA Cups en de Uefa Cup. Hij legde de basis voor de ploeg die in de jaren 70 Europa domineerde.

Shankly werd ook bekend omwille van zijn straffe uitspraken.
